VILLANOVA, Pa. — University Vice President and Director of Athletics Eric Roedl announced several administrative updates and title promotions today, including the hires of two senior level staff members whose positions closely align with the current strategic priorities of Villanova Athletics. Joining the Wildcats this month are Scott Walcoff as the Deputy AD/Chief Athletics Revenue Officer as well as Tim Doane as Senior Associate AD/Health and Performance.
Roedl also announced title promotions for three longtime members of the Villanova Athletics leadership team. Lynn Tighe will be the Deputy AD/Chief Athletics Administrative Officer, while Brian Beacham will be the Deputy AD/Chief Athletics Operating Officer. Katie LeGrand has earned a promotion to Senior Associate AD/Compliance.
Walcoff has 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry and most recently comes to Villanova after spending 20 years nearby at Temple where he was the Senior Associate AD for External Operations. In his role at Temple, Walcoff oversaw marketing, ticket sales and customer engagement teams with an emphasis on revenue generation. His demonstrated success managing large-scale projects, overseeing budgets and negotiating with vendors and stakeholders have led the departments under his management to win eight national awards.
The Deputy AD/Chief Athletics Revenue Officer position is a new role within Villanova Athletics which will lead strategy and operations for all external and commercial functions within the department. This includes ticket sales and operations marketing, corporate partnerships, licensing, merchandising, food and beverage operations, communications, creative services, video production, and broadcasting. The role will drive fan engagement, brand visibility and revenue growth through ticketing, strategic partnerships, corporate sponsorships, licensing, merchandising, NIL initiatives and promotional campaigns.
Also coming to Villanova is Doane, who most recently was the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at Lehigh. He first joined the Lehigh Athletic Department in 1997 and earned several promotions during his time there. Doane brings with him to Villanova a proven track record of strengthening organizational effectiveness and fostering a culture of excellence in Division I collegiate athletics. He oversaw organizational health at Lehigh while leading the communication and strategic planning of the sports medicine department.
Doane's new role at Villanova will combine strategic leadership with operational oversight and management of the sports medicine and strength & conditioning areas. This role will elevate the athletic program's health and performance strategy in the areas of personnel management and development, coordinating the delivery of health care, and maximizing performance and injury prevention for the Wildcats 550+ varsity student-athletes.
Tighe is in her 28th year at her alma mater and is the Senior Woman Administrator for Villanova Athletics. She originally returned to Villanova in 1998 and has earned several promotions over the duration of her career. Tighe will continue to manage the human resources functions and serve as the Title IX coordinator for the department while also serving as a liaison to key campus offices, including Human Resources, Admissions, Residence Life and Dining Services. Tighe will also continue to serve as the sport administrator for the women's basketball and track and field programs and will now oversee student development. Tighe currently serves on the NCAA Women's Basketball committee and has previously served on the NCAA Women's Soccer committee.
Beacham has been a member of the Villanova Athletics department since 2016. In his new role as Deputy AD/Chief Athletics Operating Officer, he will have oversight of internal operations including financial and business operations, contracts, game operations, facilities, equipment, capital projects, and camps and will serve as the liaison to the legal and financial affairs offices on campus. Beacham will also continue to serve as the sport administrator for the men's basketball, men's lacrosse, golf, and women's rowing programs. After first being hired at Villanova as the Assistant Director for Athletics Development, Beacham was promoted to Associate Director in 2018. He was named the Executive Director for Athletics Development in 2019 and was promoted to Chief Athletics Operating Officer in 2023.
LeGrand has been the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance since 2021 and earns a promotion to a Senior Associate AD level. She is responsible for oversight of the athletic compliance program for 24 varsity sports, and for supervision of all processes and procedures related to NCAA rules and regulations. She is also the Sport Administrator for the women's lacrosse team. LeGrand originally came to Villanova in 2008 and was promoted to Compliance Coordinator in 2010. Her titles during her career with the Wildcats have also included Director of Compliance and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
