Tim Doane

Tim Doane serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Health and Performance and the Athletics Health Care Administrator at Villanova University, a role he assumed in September 2025. In this position, Tim provides strategic leadership, operational oversight and comprehensive management of the Sports Medicine and Sports Performance programs. Beyond his administrative responsibilities, Tim maintains a clinical role, assisting with the delivery of health care for the Cross Country/Track and Field programs.

Prior to Villanova, Doane spent over 25 years at Lehigh University where he progressed from Assistant Athletic Trainer to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. His career also includes experience as an Athletic Trainer at Liberty High School (Bethlehem, Pa.), Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Connecticut and Seasonal Athletic Training Intern with the New York Jets.

A proven leader within the athletic training profession, Doane has served in numerous capacities, including Chair of the Patriot League Athletic Trainers’ Committee and several leadership roles with the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society (PATS), where he has held positions as Chair of the Public Relations Committee, Chair of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee and Parliamentarian for the PATS Board of Directors. His contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Lehigh University SPOT Award, the Patriot League Award of Good Sporting Conduct and the University of Connecticut Thomas J. Pike Athletic Training Alumni Award.

Doane earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Springfield College in 1994. In 1997, Tim completed his Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Sport Biomechanics from the University of Connecticut. His professional interests include organizational health, strategic planning, personnel development, sport biomechanics, injury mitigation and the management of overuse conditions.

Originally from Merrick, N.Y., Doane currently resides in Bethlehem, Pa., with his wife, Jen. They have been married since 1999 and have two sons, Ethan and Josh.
