'Cats Finish Fall With Steady Showing at Marist Scrimmage

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The final race day of the fall brought good competition for Villanova Rowing as it took on a trio of teams at the Marist Scrimmage on Saturday.

Villanova raced in multiple pieces with Fairfield, Vassar and the hosting Red Foxes. Despite facing challenging conditions, the Wildcats still turned in steady showings and good performances from the three boats that launched.

"The conditions were more challenging than what we experience on our home body of water, however, every boat navigated the rough waters with remarkable composure, maintaining rhythm and control," head coach Carissa Adams said. "The scrimmage was a wonderful way to end the fall season. The athletes can take the lessons they learned over the past 3 months and attack our indoor training season with confidence, trusting that the work they put in will directly translate to speed in the spring.

"Marist and Vassar were great hosts and I am grateful they included Villanova in this opportunity."

Villanova now heads into the winter for more training as it prepares for its spring slate. For all the latest news surrounding the program, keep up with villanova.com and follow the team on X and Instagram @NovaRowing.
