Sean McNamara serves as a major gifts officer for athletics development, a position he's worked since January of 2024. In this role, McNamara functions as the VAF liaison for football, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field and women's basketball.
McNamara first joined the Villanova staff in July of 2021 as an assistant director of development, working over two and a half years in the department before transitioning to athletics.
Prior to Villanova, Sean spent four seasons with the New York Jets in consumer sales and premium partnerships where he built corporate hospitality relationships and managed all aspects of revenue generation.
McNamara graduated from The Ohio State University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in strategic communications and marketing before earning an MBA from Villanova in 2023 in finance, data analytics and strategic management. While at Ohio State, Sean served as a student manager and operations assistant with the football program.
Outside of Villanova, McNamara is actively involved on the Young Professionals Commitee with the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
