After stints serving in Season and Premium Ticket Sales for the Philadelphia Union and Philadelphia Eagles, Kevin Ahern joined the Villanova Athletics’ team in 2017 as Director of Ticket Operations. He has since added the title of Associate Athletics Director, Ticket Operations, to his portfolio.Â
Ahern’s arrival came as the $65 million Finneran Pavilion renovation began. In his role Ahern oversaw the re-seating of the facility and assisted with the implementation of Nova Points. In addition, Ahern and his team works in concert with Wells Fargo Center on seating and sales for Villanova Men’s Basketball games played in the venue. Revenue from ticket sales has increased annually since 2017-18 with the exception of the 2020-21 campaign when COVID-19 restrictions did not allow for public ticket sales.Â
Over the course of his tenure, Ahern led the shift from paper tickets to a fully digital ticketing experience for the Villanova fan base. He also created and implemented a ticketing strategy around post-season ticket sales and distribution to donors and fans for two Final Fours (2018, 2022) and all NCAA Tournament and BIG EAST Conference Tournament games.Â
During Ahern’s tenure, attendance has risen annually for Women’s Basketball and Football home games. In February 2023, Villanova sold out the 6,501 seat Finneran Pavilion for its home Women’s Basketball game against Connecticut.Â
Prior to Villanova, Ahern served from 2011-17 as the Director of Season Ticket Sales for Keystone Entertainment (Philadelphia Union). He also served stints as an Account Executive with CBS Collegiate Sports Properties Falcon Sports Marketing (2007-09) and as a Premium Ticket Sales Account Executive with the Philadelphia Eagles (2007).Â
Ahern earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Neumann University in 2007. He makes his home in Kennett Square with his wife Megan and sons Landon and Grayson.Â
