Sam Killen

Sam Killen

Sam Killen is an assistant athletic trainer at Villanova after being hired to the role in October of 2022. Killen handles trainer responsibilities for the Villanova women's lacrosse and rowing teams.

Killen came to Villanova after a stint at James Madison University, where she was responsible for the women's track and field team. 

Previously, Killen worked as the women's basketball and women's golf athletic trainer at the University of Hartford from 2019-2021. Prior to her experience at the collegiate level, Killen served as the head athletic trainer at Rockville High School in Connecticut, where she was the coordinator of treatment for 38 high school teams.

A Connecticut native, Killen earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Lasell University in 2018, then received Masters of Science degrees from Lasell in Nutrition for Human Performance (2019) and Applied Sport Science Analytics (2022).

Killen is a licensed athletic trainer in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia, in addition to credentials as a certified ergonomic assessment specialist and American Red Cross Professional Rescuer in CPR/First Aid/AED.
