Jake Cox enters his third year as the Head Football Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2016. He arrived at Villanova from Temple University where he coached the Owl football team in strength, speed and metabolic conditioning methods.

Prior to his one year stop at Temple, Cox was the Director of Nutrition and the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Colorado from 2011-2013. His first full-time position was at the University of Akron from 2010-2011 where he served as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. Before his position at Akron, Cox was a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant at Stephen F. Austin from 2008-2010. He has also held internships at the University of Iowa, Baylor University, Mid-America Nazarene University and the University of Kansas.

After playing two years at Iowa Central Community College, Cox transferred to Kansas where he was a two-year offensive lineman letterwinner in 2005 and 2006. Cox graduated from Kansas in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health. He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin in 2010.

In his current position, Cox will oversee all aspects of the Wildcat football and volleyball strength and conditioning programs, including strength training, speed, agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, soft tissue work, and nutrition.
