• Creighton dropped its BIG EAST lidlifter to No. 20 Georgetown on Saturday, 3-1. It was the third match the Bluejays have played against a nationally ranked side this season - falling to No. 3 Duke on Aug. 31, 1-0, before a 3-3 draw with No. 13 Arkansas on Sept. 5.
• The Bluejays are 1-3 when playing away from Omaha this season, getting outscored 3-8 in such matches. The lone road win was a 2-1 result at Kansas City on Aug. 17.
• This is the first road trip for head coach Jimmy Walker's team in nearly a month after playing three of its first five matches away from Morrison Stadium.
• Despite trailing its opponents in scoring 14-17, Creighton has been fairly accurate in its shooting with a shot accuracy clip of .495 that is second in the BIG EAST and good enough for 77th nationally. The Bluejays have landed 50 of their 101 shot attempts on frame.
• Graduate forward Ariana Mondiri leads the Creighton offense with three goals, two assists, eight points, 23 shots and 11 on goal. She was a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection a season ago with a team-best five goals and 11 points.
• Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Zalac has been the primary netminder for the Bluejays this season, going down as the goalkeeper of record in all nine matches with a 3-5-1 showing. In 88 shots faced, she has allowed 17 goals but has made 28 saves. Her and Kailey Hall combined for a shutout in the 4-0 win over South Dakota on Sept. 14. Hall played in just under seven minutes in that contest. Zalac started in all 17 matches for Creighton last season for 1,530 total minutes with five shutouts and 58 saves.
• Creighton was picked fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll ahead of the 2025 campaign, marking its highest placement in the poll since joining the league in 2013. 

• Villanova comes into Wednesday with a four-match home winning streak to its name this season. Since the season-opening loss to Michigan on Aug. 14, the Wildcats have not allowed a goal inside Higgins Soccer Complex in the last 363:13 minutes of action. A win over the Bluejays would be the longest home winning streak since the 2009 squad won six straight home games during a nine-match unbeaten streak at home.
• The Wildcats are one of two BIG EAST teams with six wins this season heading into the second batch of conference matchups this week. Xavier joins the 'Cats in that realm sitting at 6-2-1 on the year with a league-best .711 win percentage.
• Villanova is off to its best start under head coach Samar Azem. The six wins so far this season surpass the last two squads who each won five games.
• Wednesday is the 12th overall meeting between Villanova and Creighton since 2013. The Wildcats hold a slight 6-5 edge in the overall series, winning three of the last five. Last year's 2-0 win at Creighton snapped a two-match losing skid in the series.
• Villanova is 3-2 when hosting Creighton but has not seen a home win in the series Oct. 10, 2021 when it picked up a 2-1 victory.
• This will be the last home contest for the Wildcats until the middle of October as it embarks on a three-match road swing to three different states. The month of October features just two home games for the 'Cats: Oct. 15 vs. Marquette and Oct. 25 vs. Providence.

Defending the Home Turf: Villanova has won four consecutive home matches with shutout victories over Columbia, George Mason, Lehigh and Seton Hall. Applied the Pressure: In the 1-0 win over Seton Hall on Sept. 20, Villanova did not allow a shot on goal. The last time a Wildcat defense did so was August 31, 2008 in a 3-0 win over Vermont.
 

Shutting It Down: With four clean sheets on the year, Hannah Dickinson has landed herself in a tie for 36th nationally for shutouts and tied for first among BIG EAST keepers. As a defensive unit, the Wildcats are tied for first in the league with five shutouts this season and are tied for 36th nationally with a .556 shutout percentage.

Villanova 1, Seton Hall 0 | September 20, 2025 - Villanova, Pa. - Higgins Soccer Complex

Villanova honored is seven seniors in shutout fashion on Saturday at Higgins Soccer Complex with a 1-0 win over Seton Hall to open the BIG EAST slate. It was the fifth clean sheet for the team this season and the third in the last four meetings with Seton Hall. The Wildcat defense held the Pirates to a season-low two shot attempts, outshooting them 17-2. Gabby Koluch netted the game-winner for the 'Cats in the 27th minute. The 'Cats were awarded a free kick after a Seton Hall handball. The junior midfielder sent a ringer toward the upper right 90 that connected with the net for her first goal of the season. That goal marked the second goal of the year for the 'Cats that came off a free kick. Koluch led the team with two shots on frame with Alex Little and Olivia Neal each adding one as well. Goalkeeper Hannah Dickinson was never called upon for a save in the win.
