PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Villanova men's tennis team will finish the fall season by competing at the
Dragon Invite this weekend, running from
Friday, November 7, through Sunday, November 9 at both Villanova and Drexel.
The event features a full lineup of regional programs, including Temple, FDU, Drexel, St. John's, NJIT, and Monmouth, with doubles play on Friday followed by singles matches throughout Saturday and Sunday. Friday's action opens with a three-team doubles round robin hosted at Villanova, where the Wildcats will face Temple at 12 p.m. before taking on FDU at 1:30 p.m. Matches will consist of one set with no-ad scoring and a 7-point tiebreak at 6–6. Drexel will simultaneously host a four-team doubles rotation featuring the remaining programs.
Singles competition begins Saturday, with Villanova set to take on NJIT at 2:30 p.m. on Courts 1–8 following the morning match between St. John's and Monmouth. Sunday closes the weekend with the Wildcats returning home for a 10:30 a.m. singles matchup against FDU, while additional matches take place at Drexel.
A full rain plan is in place should weather impact play, including earlier start times, limited court availability, and modified formats such as an eight-game pro set for singles. Otherwise, standard scoring and scheduling will remain in effect as the Wildcats look to continue building momentum deep into the fall season.
