Harrell, McKinnon and McGivern Earn BIG EAST Yearly Honors

Wildcats pick up three all-conference accolades for just the sixth time ever

NEW YORK – For the first time since 2020 and just the sixth time ever, Villanova volleyball has three players earning BIG EAST yearly honors as the conference's 2025 season awards were announced on Friday morning.

Abby Harrell and Campbell McKinnon were each chosen as unanimous All-BIG EAST selections while Reagan McGivern earned All-Freshman Team honors.

Harrell becomes the first three-time all-conference honoree for VU since Allie Loitz in 2017 and just the fourth Wildcat overall with three or more in their career.

The Washington native is the Villanova leader in kills, aces, digs and points as a junior, having reached 1,000 career terminations earlier this year and standing just one kill away from the first 400-kill season at VU since 2015.

The 5-foot-10 outside hitter totaled a team-high 17 double-doubles on the year, only missing double-digit kills in three of 27 matches while ranking fourth in the BIG EAST for kills and 10th for digs (one of just two hitters in the top 10).

McKinnon followed up a freshman team selection in her first year with a unanimous all-league nod in 2025, accounting for over 260 kills with a team-best .385 hitting percentage.

The sophomore middle averaged over a block per set on the season, adding 36 service aces for a total of 358.5 points during the year.

The Tennessee product accounted for 15 double-digit kill efforts this year while pacing the 'Cats in blocks on 14 occasions and totaling five or more rejections 11 times.

McGivern becomes the third straight Wildcat to be picked for the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team, joining Harrell and McKinnon as current players with the accolade and becoming the sixth VU player on the list in the last seven years.

The freshman was the highest-ranking first-year in the league's hitting percentage rankings, hitting .361 with over 160 kills for the Wildcats. The 6-foot-2 Kansan led Villanova in blocks with 109 on the year, stuffing 10 in the win against Marquette for a season-high among BIG EAST players.

Harrell, McKinnon, McGivern and the Wildcats will now compete in postseason play, taking on Xavier in the BIG EAST semifinals on Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee.
