RICHMOND, Va – Villanova women's team takes down Richmond with a 165-135 score.
Katie Vaughan finished strong in both the 1 meter dive and the 3 meter dive. In the 1 meter, she scored 250.50 giving her a new personal best and first place. She scored a 257.85 in the 3 meter and earned a second place finish, following
Alexa Fegley who finished in first place with her score of 258.68,
Sophomore
Peri Gaguzis took first in the 1000 free with her time of 10:29.34 while
Marlene Blanke followed in second with her time of 10:31.72.
Gaguzis was also able to place third in the 400 IM touching in at 4:31.18.
Anna Farley was able to steal first swimming 4:26.74.
Blanke was also able to achieve second in the 500 free with a time of 5:09.88.
Meghan Tiernan earned first place with her time of 5:04.47. She also placed first in the 200 fly touching the wall at 2:04.56 with Farley closely behind at 2:04.73 helping her finish second.
In the 200 free
Riley Kudlac finished first swimming 1:53.37 with
Martina Lonati touching in at third with a time of 1:54.10. Lonati then finished second in the 100 free with a time of 52.71 with Carlota Colomer following in third at 53.21.
In the 100 fly, Lonati swam 56.98 helping her earn second place right behind
Arabella Lee and her time of 56.86.
Lee also placed third in the 100 back when she swam 57.92.
Alana Leen finished first with her time of 56.788. She also finished first in the 200 back swimming a 2:00.04.
Lainey Quinones took second place in the 50 free touching the wall at 24.34.
Annie Honkamp also placed second in the 200 breast swimming a 2:20.26. While
Winnie Jalet took third in the 100 breast with her time of 1:05.96.
Wrapping up the day is the 200 free relay. Team A of Kudlac, Lonati, Quinones and Colomer finished second with a time of 1:36.11. While team B with efforts from
Amylia Higgins,
Alyssa McHale, Leen and Jalet swam 1:39.22 giving them third place.
The Wildcats will travel to West Virginia on January 25
th.
