Wildcats Get Underway at Lions Invitational

May 2, 2017

EWING, N.J.--A pair of throwing events made up the schedule for the first day of the Lions Invitational as Villanova got underway in two days of competition at the TCNJ Track & Field Complex. Sophomore thrower Jack Judge (Palisades, N.Y.) recorded his second personal best in the javelin in as many weeks to lead the Wildcats results on Friday afternoon.

Judge recorded a throw of 57.40 meters and was the runner-up out of 30 competitors in the javelin. He surpassed the mark of 57.26 meters which he had recorded at the Larry Ellis Invitational just a week earlier. Judge is ranked second in the BIG EAST this season and was an All-BIG EAST performer as a freshman last year.

Senior John McDonald (New Providence, N.J.) and freshman Jadyn Anczarski (Ringtown, Pa.) each competed in the hammer during Friday's action. McDonald threw for a distance of 44.30 meters and finished sixth in a field of 29 athletes. Anczarski had a mark of 35.95 meters and finished 22nd overall.
