Wildcats Drop Final Non-Conference Game to Harvard 3-0

The Villanova women's soccer team dropped their final non-conference game of the season at Harvard by a final of 3-0.

Harvard improves to 5-3 overall with the win while Villanova falls to 2-7 after today's contest. The Wildcats will open up BIG EAST play at home this Saturday, September 24th when they host Butler at 1:00 pm.

Harvard got on the board just a couple minutes before heading into halftime. Bailey Gary crossed the ball to Karly Zlatic, who headed the ball towards the goal and Margaret Purce was able to give it a final push into the back of the net.

Just seconds into the second half Purce this time set up Leah Mohammadi who scored on a defection to put Harvard up 2-0. Villanova took four shots in the second half but couldn't get any to fall. Ida DiClemente led the offense with three shot on the day while four other players added one a piece.

Purce scored the final goal of the game in the 64th minutes on a free kick that was just out of the reach of Villanova goalkeeper Emily Harris.

Harris, who got her second start of the season, played all 90 minutes and finished with three saves. She now has a .538 save percentage and 2.53 goal against average in 213 minutes of play.
