Against cross-town rival St. Joseph's, the Wildcat offense exploded for a season-high 21 goals in a 21-11 victory over the Hawks. The first half was played very tight as the Hawks scored two straight goals prior to the break by Drew Scott and Kevin Callaghan to cut Nova's lead to 6-5. But the second half was all Wildcats as John McTigue began the scoring rampage just :39 seconds into play. Villanova outscored St. Joseph's 15-6 in the final two period to cruise to the win.
For the Wildcats, McTigue led the way with six points on two goals and four assists, Christopher Larson added five goals, Andy Bogle also tallied three goals and two assists. In goal for the Cats, Matt Wilk recorded nine saves. St. Joseph's was led by Drew Scott who had four points on two goals and two assists, while Kevin Callaghan had two goals and one assist in the loss. With the victory, Villanova improves to 6-5 for the season while SJU slips down to 6-6. Villanova will take on the last of their Philadelphia rivals as they take on Penn on Tuesday, April 20 at Villanova Stadium.
