VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior Greg McCavera scored six goals and assisted on three others to lead nationally ranked Georgetown to a 15-6 victory over Villanova on Sunday afternoon at Villanova Stadium.

Junior John McTigue and classmate Christopher Larson scored seven seconds apart to stake the Wildcats to an early 2-0 advantage. Georgetown responded quickly, though, as McCavera scored twice before the first period had concluded to help the Hoyas knot matters at three after the first 15 minutes of play.

Georgetown gained control of the game in the second period, scoring all five goals in that session. McCavera scored one and set up three others in the period. Jamie Sharpe, Scott Urick, Steve Dusseau and Andy Flick also scored in the period for the Hoyas.

A Tyler Gamble goal less than a minute into the second half made it 9-3. Scores by sophomore Jesse Ford and freshman Justin Marks for Villanova pulled the Wildcats to within 9-5. But McCavera struck back with two more goals and it was 11-5 at the end of three.

Villanova's final goal of the afternoon was scored by Larson at the 6:22 mark of the fourth period. Larson and McTigue each had a pair of goals for Villanova.

The Wildcats are now 7-6 on the season while Georgetown improves to 9-2.
